LIUGONG's 600,000th Wheel Loader Showcases Battery-Electric Innovation
Publication Date: 2026-07-20   Promulgator:Admin   Clicks:43 Back

July 2026, LIUGONG has reached a historic milestone with the production of its 600,000th wheel loader, celebrating six decades of innovation since introducing China's first domestically developed wheel loader, the Z435, in 1966. The milestone machine is the LIUGONG 8110TE battery-electric wheel loader, highlighting the company's successful transformation from diesel-powered equipment to intelligent battery-electric construction equipment.

Recognizing the growing demand for low-carbon solutions, LIUGONG began developing a dedicated battery-electric wheel loader platform in 2014. Rather than converting conventional diesel models, the company adopted a purpose-built electric architecture, enabling optimized chassis design, hydraulic systems, thermal management, and powertrain integration. Today, LIUGONG offers one of the industry's most comprehensive battery-electric wheel loader portfolios, covering multiple operating capacities and application scenarios.

The company's electrification strategy is supported by its vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities. LIUGONG independently designs and manufactures key components, including drive systems, hydraulic systems, and structural components, while continuously advancing intelligent manufacturing. To date, the company has obtained 138 patents related to battery-electric wheel loader technologies, reinforcing its leadership in zero-emission construction equipment.

LIUGONG's core technologies include proprietary heavy-duty battery systems, dual-motor electric drive systems, an advanced Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), and flexible fast-charging and battery-swapping solutions. The battery system features an IP68 protection rating, integrated thermal management, and stable performance in temperatures as low as -30°C. Compared with conventional diesel models, LIUGONG's battery-electric wheel loaders can reduce energy costs by more than 70%, lower maintenance requirements by approximately 50%, and improve productivity through instant torque delivery and regenerative energy recovery.

Designed for demanding applications such as mining, steel plants, ports, tunnels, and infrastructure construction, LIUGONG's battery-electric wheel loaders have been deployed across China and exported to Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, and South America, demonstrating reliable performance in a wide range of operating environments.

Beyond electrification, LIUGONG is accelerating intelligent construction through its purpose-built drive-by-wire electric platform. The digital architecture enables precise machine control, high-speed data communication, and autonomous operation. In 2026, the company launched the world's first coordinated autonomous wheel loader fleet operation, marking another milestone in intelligent construction technology.

Looking ahead, LIUGONG will continue investing in next-generation battery technologies with longer service life, higher energy density, and lower operating costs, while expanding research into hydrogen-powered and range-extended powertrain solutions. Together with battery recycling and second-life utilization systems, these innovations will support a more sustainable lifecycle for construction equipment.
