On July 28, a landmark delivery ceremony was held at the Abu Dhabi F1 Circuit, marking a major step forward for Chinese new energy commercial vehicles in the Middle East.
Noatum Logistics, part of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and EGME, SANY’s authorized heavy-truck dealer in the UAE, jointly held the delivery ceremony for the first batch of 110 heavy trucks. This marks the first time Abu Dhabi Port has made a large-scale purchase of heavy trucks from a Chinese brand since its establishment, bringing Chinese commercial vehicles into the operations of a major UAE port. The delivery also represents Abu Dhabi Port’s first deployment of electric heavy trucks, highlighting the growing adoption of clean transportation solutions in port logistics. During the event, guests experienced test drives, electric-versus-diesel truck demonstrations, and SANY’s transportation and energy solutions.
Both sides also discussed the operational efficiency and suitability of electric heavy trucks for port logistics applications. Following the event, the two parties reached a new procurement plan for 300 electric heavy trucks, further strengthening their strategic partnership.
The project demonstrates the growing competitiveness of Chinese electric heavy trucks in overseas markets and provides a new benchmark for green port logistics and China-UAE cooperation in new energy transportation.
