John Deere has officially introduced its latest lineup of SmartGrade motor graders, unveiling eight new P-Tier models: 620, 622, 670, 672, 722, 770, 870, and 872. The launch reflects the company’s continued focus on integrating advanced technology, automation, and operator-centric design into modern construction equipment.
According to Lauren Meyer, the P-Tier series represents more than a routine upgrade. The new machines are engineered to deliver improved performance, safety, and flexibility, helping contractors adapt to increasingly complex jobsite requirements. A key highlight of the new lineup is the next-generation SmartGrade system, which supports both 2D and 3D grade control solutions. Operators can seamlessly switch between systems via the upgraded 10.1-inch G5 touchscreen display. Compatibility with both Topcon and Leica technologies provides users with greater flexibility, while maintaining consistent grading accuracy regardless of blade position or machine configuration.
Automation plays a central role in boosting productivity. Standard features such as blade flip, auto articulation, and machine presets are complemented by new additions like cutting edge wear monitoring. Advanced technology packages further introduce intelligent blade control and SmartSaddle, enabling precise blade positioning and reduced operator workload.Operator comfort has also been significantly improved. The redesigned cab includes enhanced seating with optional heating and ventilation, improved climate control, and a new 8-inch primary display. Simplified controls and centralized switches contribute to a more intuitive operating experience.
In terms of safety, the new graders offer optional advanced vision systems, including dual front alley cameras. These features enhance visibility and situational awareness, particularly in confined or high-traffic job sites. With these innovations, John Deere reinforces its commitment to delivering smarter, safer, and more efficient grading solutions for the global construction industry.
