Komatsu and Aim Partner to Advance Autonomous Construction Technology
Publication Date: 2026-08-27   Promulgator:Admin   Clicks:2 Back

Komatsu has formed a strategic partnership with Aim Intelligent Machines and Komatsu subsidiary Earthbrain to accelerate the development and commercial deployment of autonomous construction solutions in Japan and the United States.

The collaboration brings together Komatsus expertise in construction equipment, Earthbrains Smart Construction digital platform, and Aims physical AI technology for autonomous operation. The companies have been jointly validating autonomous technologies for bulldozers and hydraulic excavators, with commercial deployment now underway at customer jobsites in the US. The solution is planned for introduction to the Japanese market from 2027.

By integrating Smart Constructions digital construction plans and target terrain data with Aims physical AI platform, machines can autonomously interpret project objectives, determine suitable construction methods and travel routes, and perform earthmoving tasks with minimal human intervention.

A key advantage is the ability to retrofit Aims autonomous technology onto existing bulldozers and hydraulic excavators. This allows construction companies to upgrade their current fleets without immediately investing in entirely new equipment.

The partnership aims to create a seamless digital workflow covering construction planning, autonomous operation, progress monitoring and performance analysis. By improving safety, productivity and operational efficiency, the companies are seeking to address labor shortages and accelerate digital transformation across construction jobsites.

> Technical Guide: Essential Pre-Start Checks for Trailer-Mounted Concrete Pumps
[ 2026-08-18 ]
Before operating a trailer-mounted concrete pump, proper preparation is essential for safe and reliable pumping performance. First, position the pump on firm, approximately level ground, ensuring all four outriggers are fully supported and the tires are not carrying the machine load. On soft ground, use timber or support boards to prevent settlement.
